There is an issue with recording:
Because of lossy compression and low bitrate (I extracted best quality from youtube) frequencies above 8000Hz just dropped or severely damaged.Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Codec ID : mp4a-40-2
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 126 kb/s
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 44.1 kHz
Compression mode : Lossy
Another issue is with playback hardware. Typical customer sound system has low bandwdith characteristics despite advertisement in tech spec.
I created CSound file with sinusoid with frequency going up each second by 1000Hz: http://hg.defun.work/exp/file/tip/csoun ... es/sin.csd
I open compiled WAV file in Audacity ant at 14000Hz it looks like mess:
So 14000 Hz can't be represented by sampling rate 44100 Hz ((
It is not you old but because of recording and reproducing system limits what you can't hear ))
There is no such garbage in produced WAV file with:
I switched sound card to 192kHz sampling too.sr = 192000 ; audio sampling rate
My PC speaker can't produce sound above 12000Hz and my headphones above 1300Hz. It is not the case that I'm old ))
