not a specific context, but one that everyone needs so much
Then I'm all the more puzzled...

Is it possible to distinguish it without a notorious context?

The context may be one or the other, though notorious
Efl_unit, what do you think the Russian for the English "notorious" is in the context you had in mind?
I'm not nitpicking - I'm just wondering where a learner might get the "notorious context" collocation (! used without a limiting attribute – see Yety's comment) other than from a translating machine responding to the phrase "пресловутый контекст".
Btw, do you ever bother to look up in English monolingual dictionaries anything as uncommon in everyday usage as "notorious", partucularly if/when you're going to use it for the first time?
Do you ever check your collocations with collocations dictionaries?
And finally, do you reread, check and edit – where you may find it necessary on the second read – your texts before clicking the "send" button?
If no, I genially suggest that you do it, at least once in a while :-)
