Задание простейшее - чтобы насладиться богатством просторечного американского английского.

Однажды великий Дэшилл Хемметт написал вестерн ("The Corcscrew"). Вот вам из него фраза. Переведите ее на стандартный английский:
“The old son-of-a-gun done came after me just like I was a damned thief! ’F he’d of been a man I’d of seen him in hell ’fore I’d of gave it to him. But what can y’ do with an old buzzard that ain’t even got no teeth to bite you with?”

I think it's regional/class. Not that common, but if I hear someone local (NW Durham) say:
"I done went and..."
it doesn't surprise me. It seems to be used to re-emphasis an action.

Пока искал ссылку - попалось также:

There are non-standard English dialects that allow sentences like "I had went" and "I done went,"
Похоже, рэпперА подобным оборотом нередко злоупотребляют...)) NSFW

Avaddon, а это под спойлер не станем:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues_in_ ... the_lyrics
Blues In The Night [My Mama Done Tol' Me]
My mama done told me, when I was in knee-pants
My mama done told me, son a woman’ll sweet talk
And give you the big eye but when the sweet talkin’s done
A woman’s a two-face, a worrisome thing
Who’ll leave you to sing the blues in the night

Now the rain’s a-fallin’, hear the train’s a-callin', whooee
My mama done told me hear that lonesome whistle
Blowin’ ’cross the trestle, whooee
My mama done told me a-whooee ah-whooee old clickety-clack’s
Echoin’ back the blues in the night

The evenin’ breeze will start the trees to cryin’ and the moon
Will hide it’s light when you get the blues in the night
And take my word, the mocking bird will sing the saddest kind of song
He knows things are wrong and he’s so right

From Natchez to Mobile, from Memphis to St. Joe
Wherever the four winds they might blow
I been in some big towns and I heard me some big talk
But there is one thing I know
A woman’s a two-face, a worrisome thing
Who will leave you to sing the blues in the night

My mama was right, there’s blues in the night
Говорила ж мне маманя...

Кто ее только не пел!)))

Там еще этот a-prefixing наблюдается)):

In examples containing a-prefixing, the progressive suffix -ing is often spelled as -in’ to reflect a sound change from <ng> (a velar nasal) to <n> (an alveolar nasal).

Чуть подробнее о done:
"The other major level of grammatical organization, SYNTAX, refers to the arrangement of words into larger units such as phrases or sentences. As with morphology, we find that the tendency toward making meaning differences transparent may lead to dialect differentiation in syntax. For example, it is common for speakers of vernacular varieties to use auxiliary, or helping, verbs to give verbs special meanings that can only be indicated in standard varieties through adding a good bit of addititional material to the sentence, if the meaning can be conveyed at all. Vernacular varieties may be characterized by special auxiliries as COMPLETIVE done, as in He done washed the clothes, HABITUAL be, as in Sometimes my ears be itching, and AVERTIVE liketa, as in It was so cold, I liketa froze. If speakers of standard varieties wish to convey the meanings indicated by these special auxiliaries, they must resort to complex constructions such as He washed the clothes and has now completely finished washing them, Sometimes my ears itch and sometimes they don't, and It was below freezing outside, so I could have frozen in theory, but I was in no real danger.

Avaddon,
И вот вся эта прелесть гибнет в переводах начисто. Как погиб Huckleberry Finn в переводе Дарузес.
И сравните:
" - — Смотри ты, какой пышный! а отчего ж бы не смеяться?
— Да так; хоть ты мне и батька, а как будешь смеяться, то, ей-Богу, поколочу!"
"- How touchy we are! Why shouldn't I laugh?
- Because, although you are my father, if you laugh, by heavens, I will strike you!"
Все, это уже не Гоголь, а сухой английский текст. Так и в переводных фильмах, когда зрители слышат не актеров, а фальшивые голоса читающих текст дублеров.
