Typically, they are hard to memorize.
Phrasal Verbs are rather a headache for those who would like to neatly divide language, with all its phenomena into logical and sensible ranks, categories or groups.
Phrasal Verbs are springing up and going away without rhyme or reason.
People who think up all these compound verbs are much more strongly influenced by some vague feelings or impressions
than some grammar rules to keep to or reasoning.
Most probably phrasal verbs are being invented so that outsiders would not understand what the British say.

I concocted this test with Google-translator's help.
What would you have corrected to sound this more natural ?

They can be hard to learn. Phrasal verbs can be a real pain for those who prefer consistent patterns and well-defined rules.
Some phrasal verbs fall out of fashion and into obscurity, others come into being out of nowhere.
Those who come up with all those phrasal verbs are driven by emotions instead of logic or grammar rules.
Most likely those phrasal verbs were coined to confuse foreigners, make it really hard to grasp what British people say.
