А это писала на слова по теме Relationship и Likes/dislikes
My marriage story
I met my husband at work. His name is Sasha. We have been working at the same company for three years before we got together. So you couldn’t really say it was love at first sight.
I liked him just as a workmate or a colleague. I didn’t really fancy him in any big way at first. I even tried to throw him together with other single workmates.
We began to see each other after a corporate party. He invited me for a beer. At first I thought we have nothing in common but then I realized that we both are perfectionists and also keen on computers. Actually I can’t stand people who is not organised, so I really like him being responsible, punctuated and neat.
We got married after a year of dating. And now we have two children. Our daughter’s name is Karina. And our son’s name is Arseniy. They sometimes have a quarrel but they soon make it up.
I think marriage is still as important as ever in my country. I think the problem for some people is a lack of commitment. All relationships have their ups and downs but some people prefer to break up rather than working at the relationship.

С какой целью вы такие примеры составляете? И сколько вы примеров предварительно посмотрели в словарях и в гугле, прежде чем составили свои?

Правда она запоминает все очень даже хорошо, как ни странно. Но я так не могу.

I can't imagine how you can find 5-8 hrs a day if you have work, kids, and household chores. It's too much, at least for real studying with coursebooks.
Then why doubting? :) Just keep going and hope for the best.
Why do you keep listening to and comparing yourself with some random people? Are you sure her outcomes are perfect? Again, maybe she focuses on this book exclusively and you've got your fingers in a lot of pies.

2020, 22:59Does anyone check them, or do you check them against the corpora? There are some mistakes, so if you learn them by heart you'll have fossilized mistakes in your writing.
Да, это проверяется на онлайн курсе преподавателем. Поэтому и пошла, чтобы было кому проверять

это как? фантазируете о людях?
fancy - это сильно хотеть (британский английский) или фантазировать. без of.
talk to - Br E
talk with - Am E
как мне кажется, надо определиться с вариантом. если американский, то без fancy + амерский spelling везде.
где-то еще такую штуку у Вас видела, pay attention
связность под вопросом, honest and reliable я бы сказала. Или and I can / could (can по мне лучше)...

Juliemiracle, Eager Beaver, как думаете, если вместо составления своих предложений, просто выписывать и читать готовые из словарей, где точно всё правильно употреблено толк будет? Или это менее эффективно? Скажем 10-20 предложений на слово.

cherkas, это были слова из какого-то юнита Vocabulary in Use Upper Intermediate. Эту работу мне уде проверили. Вот это исправленный преподавателем вариант:
I quite like people who are down-to-earth as they can think practically and pragmatically.
I fancy people who are generous and could buy you a cup of coffee without thinking hard.
I am passionate about intelligent, bright and sharp people because there is always something interesting to talk with them about.
It is easy for me to get on with people who are sociable and chatty.
And one of the important traits that I like is to be optimistic and have a good sense of humor.
I also like people being well-mannered and well-dressed.
I respect everyone who is trustworthy and honest and you could always rely on them.

OMG! So many!
I'd try to find a sentence which I could modify a bit to personalise it. For example,
fancy
BRITISH INFORMAL to feel sexually attracted to someone
I think Steve fancies you!
https://www.macmillandictionary.com/dic ... sh/fancy_1
I think Ivan (my hypothetical student) fancies Anna (my hypothetical other student).
or
I fancy Patrick Wilson :)
The changes are minimal as well as the risk of making a mistake, but when I say them (and you need to say them too), I'll have some real people, real meaning behind those sentences. And let them be simple. If you want to practise lexis, don't make the grammar too complex - one challenge at a time.

I passionate -> I AM passionate (к тому же я сомневаюсь, что можно быть passionate about people).
have sense of humor -> have A good sense of humor
one of the important traits... is to be optimistic and have... -> вначале про одну черту, в перечислении две; через to be получается неграмматично - лучше optimism and a good sense of humor
I respect everyone who is trustworthy and honest and you could always rely on them. - плохой синтаксис, дб:
who is trustworthy and honest and who you can always rely on.

Chinara,
when you personalise, you inadvertently think more about the word. If I really want to make a true sentence about fancying sb, I start thinking about, say, different actors, mentally asking myself, 'Do I fancy this guy? - Hm, no, not really. This one?' So, it'll give you extra recycling, which is always valuable.

I was talking about this meaning exactly :)
Yeah, it's a very marked form - BrE + informal + sexually charged :)

It's not a problem at all if, like me, you prefer BrE. It's just it's hard to be consistent sometimes with loads of AmE from films and other media. And you need to make a mental note of the register, of course, not to use it in an inappropriate situation :)

cherkas,
at the same time the cliche 'Do you fancy ...ing ... tonight?' has nothing sexual about it although it's British, too.

У меня иногда и больше выходит.
Возьмите, например, generous.
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dicti ... h/generous
Прочитайте всю страницу, вслух, осмысляя написанное. Задержитесь на разделе Examples of 'generous' in a sentence, подгрузите еще примеров. Уже больше выйдет.
Добавляем второй словарь.
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dic ... h/generous
Читаем, задерживаемся на разделе EXAMPLES of generous.
Думаю, уже более чем достаточно.
