Yes, I wanted a change, and that picture resonated with something in me. Maybe with the feeling that my life is coming to an end. But not only that, I guess. This kind of death is a perfect annihilation, at least if you are close enough to the epicenter. You are burned to ashes and blown away, so that no sign of your existence remains. And the fact that it appeals to me probably shows how alienated from this world I feel. I don't want to be part of this place. I want to completely disappear, as if I'd never existed.

Much easier said than done, and it's not about willpower. First you have to know what better life is for you and why. Whether it's still possible, too. Let's be realistic: any serious change takes significant time, and our time is limited. It may so happen that you will realize how you should have lived your life only when it's almost over.

Let us fully indulge in self-pity.

I'd rather call it self-compassion. Turning a deaf ear to yourself is no solution. You can't expect anyone else to truly understand you. People have their own lives. As for pity, this word exists for a reason. Sometimes you deserve it, as well as I. I am not just indulging in it but also trying to figure out what is going on in me and whether I can fix it. My current understanding may not be accurate, but I am working on it. Perhaps this is the only meaningful thing I can do with the time that I still have.
