Would you like to choose to be a celebrity or to have a famous friend?
Perhaps being a celebrity is terribly embarrassing. So I would like to choose to have a far-famed friend. She/he would extricate me from difficulties if I had ones. My eminent friend would have a network of useful social contacts. I think it is a bit childish question so I’ve given a playful answer).

I would like to choose to have - I would like to have/ I would rather have ( I'd rather have)...
She/he would extricate me from difficulties if I had ones - too formal; She/he would give/offer me a helping hand when/if I were in trouble
My eminent friend - My celebrity friend (you can use "celebrity" as an adj, too)
You see, you may often do the same (or even better) using more common words - that's why Essential Activator might be a good choice.
Which would your prefer: to be famous or to have an illustrious friend?
I would definitely rather be famous than have a famous friend!
Perhaps in this case I won’t have to get up early. If I had the opportunity, I would prefer to get my breakfast in bed) I don’t really like to give any interviews but I'll manage to endure it. By the way, it may be amusing to have my face on the cover of Time!
I'd rather be a famous person's friend than a celebrity. Most of them have to work hard. That's why they are celebrities. But I'm too lazy. Also, celebrities have problems with their private life. Mass media always try to find out something exciting about famous people. Sometimes, reporters even create untrue stories about celebrities in order to damage their reputation. It's really annoying. Lastly, all celebrities have big ambitions but I don't. I think being celebrity's friend isn't easy too, but it's easier for me than being very popular person.
In my opinion, there are many disadvantages in being celebrity. The worst one is paparazzi. So I'd like either to be a very mysterious celebrity, whose face and address nobody knows, or to be a celebrity's friend. To be a friend is even better: you can spend time with all those famous people, use your friend's villa and pool etc. And you have no obligation or responsibility.
Белая Мишка, you need to stop abusing formal vocabulary here; it just looks funny). Your punctuation and contractions are typical for informal writing, but your word choice contradicts that quite often.
Not illustrious - well-known
I won't have to get up early - I wouldn't
I would prefer to get my breakfast in bed - I would prefer to have
Syaochka aka JuliaKu, disadvantages in OF being a celebrity
Punctuation : To be a friend is even better: you can spend time with all those famous people, use your friend's villa and pool etc.,Aand you have no obligation or responsibility.
I would recommend to learn all new words together with their register and some context. It's probably the third time that I've corrected your register in this challenge.
'get breakfast in bed' is a new collocation for me; thank you for posting the link!
if you look the word in a good vocabulary they usually tell you whether it is fml or ifml (sometimes they even specify colloq; if neither of them then it is usually neutral (this fact they don't indicate).
Words originated from Latin are usually more formal than their synonyms of German origin; phrasal verbs are usually (but not necesserily) infml.
Do you prefer to be famous or have a famous friend?
I wouldn't like to be rich and famous. I think it brings more disadvantages than benefits. I like my private life and not to want to attract attention journalists and criminals :) I think it is a very hard job to be famous and rich. But if you have a famous friend it is the difference. You will have benefits and don't have any troubles (except journalists who would try to interview you anyway). I would prefer this way.
Would you like to be famous or to see being famous your friend?
I think that there would be any use in being famous if it gave some profit or if it could help me solve problems.
I wouldn't like my friend to be famous because I saw many people in my life who after growing in popularity or famousness became very greedy and arrogant. I don't have feelings of envy at all, it is just my opinion.
It depends on the field which I would be famous. I wouldn't want to be a popstar, a famous actress or someone like that because lots of people are just obsessed with them. It would be difficult to have a normal life. But it would be interesting to be a famous scientist or an astronaut.
The question about a famous friend depends too. On the one hand I would be able to meet up with interesting people. But on the other hand, perhaps, my friend woudn't have enough time for me or if he was famous thief I don't think I would have interesting meetings.

I’d like to try both. First I want to have a famous friend and after to be famous. Perhaps it is not so interesting as it seems.
It depends on the field which I would be famous -It depends on what to be famous for - just a suggestion
I wouldn't want to be - I wouldn't like to be
to have a normal life - to live a normal life - might be a little better
The question about a famous friend depends too - maybe, "The question about a famous friend also doesn't have just one answer"
On the one hand, I would be able to meet up with interesting people. But on the other hand, if he, for example, was a famous thief I don't think the meetings would be so exciting/pleasant.

That's why they are celebrities - That's OK; perhaps you would like this version, too: "That's what makes/made them celebrities"
something exciting about - That's OK; some exciting facts about
create untrue stories - can be "make up stories" ("make up" implies that the stories are not true) damage/destroy/ruin their reputation - just adding a few words you probably know
than being very popular person -than being a very popular person myself/than being very popular myself
Your grammar is good.

Would you like to be famous or to see being famous your friend? - Perhaps you would like to change sth here yourself? You'd better do.
if it gave some profit or if it could help me solve problems - EITHER: if it brought/made ME some profit or if it could help me solve MY problems
OR: if it brought/made YOU some profit or if it could help YOU solve YOUR problems
In my opinion, the 2nd option is better when writing a formal essay (more general, less personal), but here's not an essay, so it's up to you which to choose
after growing in popularity or famousness - after achieving/gaining popularity and(?)/or(?) FAME
I don't have feelings of envy at all, - I don't envy them/anybody
