Он ещё раньше уже надел свой фартук (had got/put it on =already had it on, was already wearing it).

It wasn't until he had got on his suit (which he would have to change for a white linen one as soon as he reached the store) that he approached the door of his room and stooped for the letter. As soon as he had got out of bed he had placed ...

He got his apron on and passed into the forge.
и
He had got his apron on and passed into the forge.

If a tooth feels very loose, your dentist may recommend that it's taken out.

The dentist recommends that the tooth is taken out.
Make sure that the tooth is taken out.
Take care that the tooth is taken out.
Check that the tooth is taken out.
See that the tooth is taken out.

Yety, my good friend, I swear to god I don't mean being pesky asking this, but what do these stand for?
I mean, where/how can one find, say, 1/2, 2/2, 3/1, etc.?
In other words, what bedrock principle is behind this numeration, so far enigmatic to me?
Anyway, +1 for a couple of new, quite useful written contributions to the noosphere:-)

• In everyday English, you recommend that someone does something:
I recommend that she speaks to a lawyer.
‘That’ can be omitted:
I recommend she speaks to a lawyer.
.

I recommended that she speak to a lawyer.

I recommended that they should get insurance.

Walk down Castle Street, admire our little jewel of a cathedral, then wonder at the castle. [VERB + at]
If you wonder at something, you are very surprised about it or think about it in a very surprised way.

hoz,
