It could be I waited for another taxi for 30 mins:
She had waited for a taxi for twenty minutes. She had been dining in the company of four rowdy men, all of them guffawing at her loud, ribald jokes.
He said he waited for a taxi for an hour, and she responded that the taxi service called in less than the 15 minutes, saying that he wasn't there.
In I waited thirty minutes for another taxi and the like, '30 minutes' might be regarded as something like a direct object of the verb 'to wait' (?) - hence its priority in the word order.
