It's a tough question.
I keep telling myself, "It's just a job, it's just a job." This is one of my greatest fears: slipping into this "Jesus Christ, superestar" (c) attitude. I feel that everything in our profession pushes you towards this sort of hubris, especially if one gets positive feedback from students. There's such a fine line between teaching and preaching. I don't want to cross it.
