Patricia K. Kuhl is one leading specialist in the area of children language acquisition. You might remember her from the TED talk "The linguistic genius of babies", which was discussed on the efl.ru forum a few years ago.
She along with her colleague Naja Ferjan Ramirez has conducted the largest study of infants (ages 7–33.5 months) designed to assess efficiency of a science based approach to teaching a foreign language to infants.
