I'm preparing for a lesson now (it will be about complaining and writing a letter of complaint) and as a warm-up I'd like to discuss things that people complain about. While looking for some interesting things people complain about, I came across this article:
http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style ... 01736.html
Isn't it interesting?) Which are your favourites and what would you add?
P.S. I hope there haven't been any topics like this one. You are welcome to contribute.)
Interesting articles

thanks for posting the list. it's a great source for writing drills.
different people complain about different things. it heavily depends on how and where they live. just today I came across this video. it's funny and up to the point, I think. by the way, you may borrow the main idea for your classes: there are no universal problems. what seems an insurmountable predicament for one is just nothing for another

The stupidest complaint I've heard from Americans was about a hotel in Scotland. It wasn't air-conditioned. Hello! It's feaking SCOTLAND!!! They have, like, what, 5 days a year when the temperature climbs over 5 degrees?
The hotel's response was even better, though. They regretted that they didn't have air conditioning but pointed out that their windows were excellent.
(In case some of you guys don't know, Americans are total air conditioning junkies.)
