Yes, but that was justified by the context. My reply would not have worked if I had written it in English. You can't say the same about heather's questions, can you? There is nothing specifically Russian in them.

That is, "Drink samogon often!" or "Often drink samogon!"? I think the first is correct.
And I don't think you can use 'usually' in the imperative. It would look odd. Actually it's the same in Russian, isn't it? "Я обычно пью самогон" is OK, but "Пей самогон обычно!", "Обычно пей самогон!" and "Пей обычно самогон!" are all strange to me.
