I only recently found the difference out.
Rug is small near your bed or bathtub. Carpet covers significant part of the room.
Hope I am right. That's the case then picture dictionary helps must better than reading same word 10000 times ))

Good catch!
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/ru/англо-русский/clam - морской моллюск
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freshwater_bivalve :
There are saltwater clams too: https://theaquarium.club/saltwater-clams/The majority of species of bivalve molluscs live in the sea, but in addition, a number of different families live in freshwater (and in some cases also in brackish water). These families belong to two different evolutionary lineages (freshwater mussels and freshwater clams), and the two groups are not closely related.
It looks like we are accustomed to eat freshwater clams??
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clam
https://www.wildbunnysland.com/can-you- ... ter-clams/ - interesting fact:
To ensure their young don’t get taken downstream, they have adapted to only release sperm in the water (unlike saltwater clams that release both eggs and sperm). They keep their eggs inside their shells and wait until they draw in sperm to fertilize the eggs. Once fertilized, the eggs stay in their shells and grow in special pouches. When their young have developed into juveniles, they will exhale them into the substrate so they can start digging their own burrows to live in.

Marshes are nutrient-rich wetlands that support a variety of reeds and grasses, while swamps are defined by their ability to support woody plants and trees. Bogs are characterized by their poor soil and high peat content, while fens have less peat and more plant life than a bog.

Today I got new pair: pumpkin vs squash.
In short: pumpkin is one type of squash. Among butternut squash, pattypan squash, buttercup squash, muscat squash, turban squash.
For those who likes Ancient Greek terms, like ones here https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktiona ... _relations they are meronym/holonym (is-a relation).
Squash is considered a fruit.
It is hard to tell which one is pumpkin. I could imaging confusion your friends when you made https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack-o%27-lantern from a squash that is not a pumpkin ))
Note that in USSR we usually consume pumpkin that is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_squash
Familiar example of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer_squash is zucchini / courgette (кабачек)

I thought that zucchini and courgette are synonyms, but it looks like words describe different stage of ripeness:
http://www.differencebetween.net/object ... courgette/
In early stage of development it is a courgette, and later it become zucchini.

When in Italy, I tried granita, which looks a bit similar, but it was delicious.

В моем советском детстве продавалось фруктовое мороженное:
Брали когда на сливочное денег не могли наскрести. В принципе мне нравилось. У этого slush вкус примерно такой но консистенция соответствует названию - слякоть - микроскопические льдинки в воде.

Today I came across these words.
They are two different species though Russian language doesn't have separate words:
