A more or less discreet way of saying 'to have a sexual intercourse':

Knock boots (with)
Although Green dates this one to the '80s, the phrase supposedly refers to Old West sexy times. When cowboys got with the ladies, they'd place their boots under the bed. The ensuing action would knock the shoes together repeatedly, creating noise and an enduring, weird slang for sex.

Встретила сейчас слово irritable, и конечно, несложно догадаться, что слово irritation - его явный родственник.
Определение из LDOCE - getting annoyed quickly or easily. Уже хотела выписать его и поставить знак = annoyed. Но ведь annoyed or irritated - это когда ты уже раздражен, в то время как irritable - это чрезмерная склонность раздражаться. О, заглянула в мультитран - раздражительный. Блин, сама вообще не вспомнила бы об этом слове

Йэтимология с доставкой.
Слово происходит от латинского словосочетания (!) in odio как в выражении mihi in odio est - "мне это ненавистно"([esse] in odio), и таким образом, разумеется, родственно odious одиозный (="ненавистный") и odium 'hatred'.
odious (adj.)
late 14c., from Anglo-French odious, from Old French odieus (late 14c., Modern French odieux) or directly from Latin odiosus "hateful, offensive, unpleasant," from odium "hatred" (see odium).

odium (n.)
c. 1600, "fact of being hated," from Latin odium "ill-will, hatred, grudge, animosity; offense, offensive conduct," related to odi "I hate" (infinitive odisse), from PIE root *od- (2) "to hate"
То же выражение образовало во французском при помощи back formation (регрессивной деривации) другое книжное слово и было заимствовано уже в другой, с трудом узнаваемой, форме - ennui ['ɔnwiː] скука, тоска; внутренняя опустошённость; апатия.
СпойлерПоказать
ennui (n.)
1660s as a French word in English; nativized by 1758; from French ennui, from Old French enui "annoyance" (13c.), back-formation from enoiier, anuier (see annoy). Hence ennuyé (adj.) "afflicted with ennui," and thence ennuyée (n.) for a woman so afflicted.
So far as frequency of use is concerned, the word might be regarded as fully naturalized; but the pronunciation has not been anglicized, there being in fact no Eng. analogy which could serve as a guide. [OED]
А тут нечаянно - и вся история.))
Word History: Both annoy and ennui originate from the same Latin phrase. When the Romans wanted to say that they hated something, they used an idiom whose wording may seem a little unexpected for speakers of English: mihi in odiō est, which literally means "to me in a condition of dislike or hatred it is." Translated more idiomatically, the expression just means "I hate or dislike."
The words in odiō ("in hatred") in this idiom gave rise to the Vulgar Latin verb *inodiāre, "to be hateful or a source of trouble to, annoy," the source of the Old French verb ennuyer or anoier, "to trouble, annoy, bore." This verb was borrowed into Middle English by around 1275 as anoien, our annoy. The Old French verb anoier also gave rise to a noun, variously spelled enui and annui, meaning "chagrin, sadness." The Modern French form of this noun, ennui, came to mean "boredom, lassitude," and it was with this sense that the word was borrowed into English in the 1700s.
Дальнейшее развитие этого корня-культи-с-протезом привело к появлению еще одного прелестного книжного словечка - noisome вредоносный, зловонный, тошнотворный.
СпойлерПоказать
noisome (adj.)
late 14c., "harmful, noxious," from noye "harm, misfortune," shortened form of anoi "annoyance" (from Old French anoier, see annoy) + -some (1). Meaning "bad-smelling" first recorded 1570s.
В испанском:
And compare Spanish enojo "offense, injury, anger;" enojar "to molest, trouble, vex."

a dine and dash; to dine and dash
A dine and dash is a form of theft by fraud, in which a patron orders and consumes food and beverages from a restaurant or similar establishment with the intent not to pay. The act may involve the customer leaving the restaurant with the intent of evading payment, or, less commonly, of the patron eating the food and then stating that they do not have any money.
В видео ниже много раз это повторяется.

Кстати, начиная с 1.34 он говорит: "And Chipotle, you done screwed this one up".

He will not be having a celebratory drink, as he is teetotal.
