Спасибо, я просто не прокрутила достаточно далеко назад. Прочитала самые последние посты.
Но зато я читаю много книг о рыцарях (средневековая история) и даже знаю названия некоторых частей доспехов. )

5m55s -- Yeah, you done did buried her!
Okay, done+v2, it isn't something I didn't know. When I was a school kid, I watched "Scrubs" (the medical tv series once popular back in the day) I guess that was where I first noticed it and I'm sure I've heard it said quite a few times ever since.
But done+did+v2 is really news to me, that's why I thought I'd share this "barbaric solecism" here on the forum, because hell there's probably someone else out there as super weird as myself, who's into grammar abnormalities and all things weird (language-wise, of course) lol
Ps Guys moderating the thread, sorry if this is a bit unrelated, I know I should have posted it in the grammar section of the board, but on finding no relevant threads, I figured I'd borrow this one because seriously why open a whole new thread for something like this, I mean something that holds no merit in life lol Anyways feel free to move it anywhere you please if you guys think it's misplaced.

bucket list – a list of things one has to do before they "kick the bucket"

The context/sentence I met it in:
Now that I found out where it came from, I've put the namesake film on my must-see list.

The context/sentence I met it in:
https://www.writersdigest.com/online-ed ... iter-at-50The year I turned 20 I sat down and made out my bucket list, jotting down the decade birthdays—30th, 40th, 50th, and so on—and beneath each entry what I hoped to have accomplished by that date.

Interestingly, the female "cow" for the ox is the same as for the elephant and whale. I hadn't ever thought of finding that out before visiting this site:-)

Я думал здесь все понимают русский язык. Ошибся. :)
Привести полный список не было моей целью. Я привел ссылки на программу Vocabulary.Com.
А так я знаю больше чем до хрена этих слов и в вашем списке нет, например вот этого из THHGTTG :
https://books.google.com/books?id=j24GM ... &dq=murine
“Since when,” continued his murine colleague, “we have had an offer of a quite enormously fat contract to do the 5D chat show and lecture circuit back in our own dimensional neck of the woods, and we're very much inclined to take it.”
И вот этого из моего сообщения:
Харбин Хэйлунцзян (Что для вас является самым сложным в изучении английского?)
-Кому-то может показаться что это немного но our sciurine friend судя по всему так не считает.

dudgeon - не путать с gudgeon или с dungeon :)
Нашлось в программе Vocabulary.Com:
https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/dudgeon
У меня такое ощущение что я где-то встречал это слово, но где не помню. Не такое и редкое:

Вот пример из BBC:

Все словари говорят origin unknown. Я провел небольшое исследование и нашел мнения где-то из 18-19 веков что это значение происходит от второго - кинжал. Это состояние в котором человек готов решать проблемы с помощью кинжала.
Смотрим второе значение - такое впечатление что все списывали из одного источника:
https://ahdictionary.com/word/search.html?q=dudgeon
Это просто праздник - древесина из которой делают рукоятки. Очень хитрое определение - делаешь рукоятку из березы и называешь березу dudgeon. :)
Немного поиска и оказывается что это корень самшита, по дороге узнаешь что самшит - box, а рукоятка кроме hilt может еще называться haft.
Встречается в составных dudgeon-haft и dudgeon-dagger.

When you're profoundly upset and indignant about something, you're in high dudgeon. If a manager says something offensive to his employees, he risks having them all quit in high dudgeon.

This was one of those social media eruption moments. Golfers and fans from this side of the pond responded in high dudgeon.

Харбин Хэйлунцзян,
so, the person is so furious he's grasping the hilt of his dagger ready to fight? Is that why it's 'be in high dudgeon'?

Ну да, так там было написано. Он еще looks daggers при этом. :)
Еще одно кинжальное выражение to the hilt - по рукоятку. Это я еще в школе узнал из песни:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdsVy3UZb7c
-She's killer-diller when she's dressed to the hilt.
