The Bodkins of Macmillan's English World:

Если seer - используется в прямом значении "one who sees" (прямое смысловое образование от глагола see + суффикс -er), то /siːəɹ/.
Federal health officials had been preaching for months about the need to get vaccinated at all costs — our lives may very well depend upon it, they said. But here’s the thing about vaccines or anything else you inject yourself with — there is no do-over. What’s done is done. No mulligans. https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/c ... cna1286540
an earworm - a catchy song/tune that you can't get out of your head.
One of the most refreshing parts of the doc is the revelation that even the Beatles at their creative peak started off with some clunkers and finessed them into brilliant, lasting earworms we know and love today.
plus fours- First introduced during the 1920s, plus fours were a variation on the traditional knee pants called knickers, which had been worn by men, boys, and, occasionally, women, since the late 1800s. Plus fours received their name because they were made four inches longer than ordinary knickers.
Why Didn't They Ask Evans?"

If I thought my kid was going to get clown-knifed, I'd probably be pretty reckless in ensuring their safety.
Kind_Punk, I wonder what book that weird comment might've been left on.
A stabby clown does ring a distant bell to me but try as I might, I can't figure out where it may come from:-)
The big something (number) - o used to denote an age ending in a zero, especially as marked by a landmark birthday.
But you must understand that I was unmarried, pushing the Big Three-Oh, and beginning to wonder where I’d be in five or ten years.
Found in The Eighth Commandment by Lawrence Sanders
Examples of usage in TFD:
So, you're turning the big three-o tomorrow! How are you feeling about it?
My mom's going to be the big six-o this summer, so we're planning a big family vacation to mark the occasion.
(just) for show - для галочки , просто для вида, для показухи .
You ever gonna turn that thing on, or is it just for show?
Give /send a big shout-out to ...
I'd like to give a big shout-out to my mom who's in the audience tonight.
Mx. (Mx in BrE) - /em-ˈeks/- the gender-neutral alternative to honorifics “Mr.” and “Mrs./Ms." added to Merriam-Webster Unabridged in 2016 (though it appeared in print as early as the late ’70s.
The honorific has already made headway in Britain. About a year ago, the Royal Bank of Scotland, for instance, began to instruct its employees to offer customers the option of selecting Mx. when filling out paperwork at local branch offices.

I think Tyra invented that word at her ANTM show :)
Yes, it's she/her who/that coined it (not sure which would be correct - my gut tells either); and it seems to have become a buzzword a certain while before I chanced upon it:)
