Previous record was made more than year ago before I started training with private local tutor who assured me to work on improving pronunciation and it was posted and criticized on former EFL.RU:
I've made only small progress with a tutor, we haven't moved beyond individual sounds. I relocated to another city.
Here is my first attempt to work with Audacity recording software which I am going to use for improving my pronunciation by recording and comparing with educational and desired samples.
I enabled "Sound Activated Recording" under "Preference => Recording" so you won't hear hesitations but also it slightly corrupts speech, making TH sound at the beginning of words/sentences a bit like T, etc:
I did make any preparation for the recording (like reading several times in advance).
I pronounced some words with obvious mistakes like "began" as "begun", "cost" as "coast", "Sarah" as "Sara" /ˈsɑːrə/ and I am not trained to make proper reduction of /æ/ in words, like "and" / "that".
That's a year progress without any special training. I just tried to develop phoneme awareness, catching them during listening and tried to repeat some sentences during vocabulary related solo lessons.

It's partially due to enabled "Sound Activated Recording" option in recording software. It stops recording if there is no sound.
I find it quite appealing as it saves time during speech practice - when you analyze you recording you don't need to go across hesitations and long pauses.
I'll search for Push-to-Talk plugin. It is a better alternative.
With self recording I found that I didn't like what I heard from the record whilst it sounded satisfying during pronunciation.Michelangelo пишет: ↑05 окт 2018, 14:42 т.к. у меня самого нет процедуры в уме согласно которой можно улучшить произношение
So I am at stage when self-correction during talk/reading aloud is not sufficient to spot errors.
Listen and repeat loop no longer works. I need listen / record / analyze loop ))
DO you use a reference recording? How do you judge your results?

You might just as well use the 'P' key for pause in Audacity.gavenkoa пишет: ↑05 окт 2018, 16:09 It's partially due to enabled "Sound Activated Recording" option in recording software. It stops recording if there is no sound.

And those hesitation pauses can be eliminated automatically after the recording was made (Эффекты -> Вырезание тишины) - this way you don't 'ave 'tose Knacklauts at the beginning of sentences.)

I tried and found it sufficient for my use cases.
Together with Space for switching to Play mode and Shift-Space for looping over selected area Audacity looks like a perfect studio for pronunciation development.
Great! I tried and found default 0.5 sec silence duration too short for public records but good enough for pronunciation practice.
Furthermore software allows to assign arbitrary hot key for any menu item and I found Ctrl+Space unassigned and satisfying. Just Ctrl+A -> Ctrl+Space -> Enter to remove pauses.
Also there is "Analyze" => "Silence Finder" that marks tracks instead of cut them.
It took me 2 years to get there ((

2:35-2:40 I read unknown word "diagnoses". 100% Runglish. It is not important to discuss mistaken stress. I systematically fix it with repetition in Anki (not surprisingly only those words that I added).
In my opinion it is Russian ugly sound "A" - "дАягнозис". Though I don't understandd how to improve quality of this sound even I know it is broken.
